Do you want to measure the impact of circularity?

Circular metrics for policymakers
Policymakers around the world have pledged to adopt principles of a circular economy, to become waste-free or 100% circular. But what exactly does that mean in practice? How can this be measured and its progress tracked reliably? And, what are the implications for other impacts such as emissions, biodiversity or employment?

At Circle Economy, we help public sector stakeholders and policymakers navigate the increasingly complex landscape of circularity metrics and indicators in three ways:
Heart

Support

We directly support policy developers and those who collaborate with them across levels of government to better understand their need for circular metrics and identifying, prioritising and implementing circular economy indicators to match these. We do so via our Circularity Gap Reports and workshop offerings.

Overview

We provide an overview of the changing landscape of circular metrics. Through constant research, analysis and publication on this rapidly evolving topic, we help you understand and choose the best practices for measuring circularity.  You can find our latest insights here: Indicators for governments report (collaboration with PACE)

Connect

We connect diverse stakeholders to drive the application of metrics to measure and track the implementation of circularity. We do so by creating coalitions of key stakeholders o advance the debate and foster alignment between metrics users, developers and those facilitating and standardising their use. For example, the Circular Economy Indicator Coalition (CEIC) which is creating a repository of available indicators for policy makers and connecting them to relevant policy themes.
