M-KOPA - Refurbishing solar-powered equipment

Business Case

Last updated: Jun 26, 2022

Summary

M-Kopa provides access to pay-as-you-go solar services and appliances as an alternative to kerosine lanterns and diesel generators. When the products break down, customers return them to M-Kopa to be refurbished and sold as second-hand products. Because the components are sourced from returned units, M-Kopa does not import new parts to build their panels. They also partner with e-waste recycling companies to recycle the recyclable components ethically to avoid them ending up in landfill.
