Business Case

Last updated: Jan 18, 2023

Summary

Decode is a designer-owned zero waste design & manufacturing innovation hub based in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Through highly complex pattern engineering, founder Danielle has dedicated her entire career to achieving 100% efficiency in all of her designs.

Problem

60 Billion meters of fabrics is wasted every year due to inefficient pattern cutting practices.

Solution

Decode is able to make completely efficient designs through complex pattern engineering, which saves the industry standard 25% post industrial waste. With Zero Waste Design every inch of fabric is perfectly placed, allowing for 100% use of materials.

Decode designs garments that are are as close to "standard" as possible - where one may look at your Zero Waste Hoodie and not necessarily know right away that it is indeed Zero Waste. Through zero waste manufacturing, Decode proves a scalable model of production, taking design beyond that of a proof of concept & digging into manufacturing realities to bring truly zero waste product to the world's stage.
